X-ray and Ultrasound

We often perform radiographs on different parts of the body, depending on the problem. We recommend radiographs for a variety of reasons, depending on the problem. This technology helps us to assess the heart, lungs, limbs, abdomen. We do this so that we are able to diagnose conditions such as heart failure, foreign body ingestion, bladder and kidney stones, limb fractures and so on. We recommend full mouth radiographs for dental procedures as well.

It’s important that our Veterinarian has done an assessment of your pet prior to x-rays, so the recommendation of what views are required are clear. Once this is known, your dog will have a booking time in-clinic to stay with us to have these x-rays done. X-rays do not always require sedation. If sedation is required, then your dog would need to be fasted 8 hours prior to the appointment and would spend the day with us.
